Re: Not a dart BUT, pretty cute!

Normally, that bird house has hornets nests in it. When I saw something hanging out of the entrance, I assumed that's what it was. I was pleasantly surprised to see this little fella'!

Not a dart BUT, pretty cute!

Finally got a picture of this little guy who lives in our bird house. It's a "Copes" (common grey) tree frog. We live in Middle Tennessee and every spring they sing all night long. I guess he/she has found a safe new home!

Re-did the Tinc's temp home!

I'm in the process of designing a larger home for my two Tinc's! It was time to give their temporary home a cleaning and this is what I came up with. My original setup was a little too crowded for them and the live plants were taking over.
Thanks for looking!

Re: Any hunters out there...

Thanks Hutch, taxidermy is just another hobby of mine. My wife compares me to Norman Bates (yikes!) he did taxidermy also.
The deer here it Tennessee are small compared to those in the north and in the corn belt but they are Giants compared to the Ca black tails.

Thanks Eric;
That's what I've always done. I'll probably stick with it just to be safe.

Re: Any hunters out there...

Thank you! I'm so glad we moved to Tennessee. I hunt with compound and Xbow till rifle season then the noise makers come out. We moved Here from Ca. Terrible hunting there. Colombian Black tail deer. About the size of dogs and you can only shoot bucks. In Tennessee we can harvest ( are you sitting d...

Re: Getting back into the hobby ( lifestyle)!

Well! Almost a week after purchasing the Tincs, I dug out the container they came in and realized that they are not Cit's but they are Nikita's!
Time to get my eyeglass prescription renewed!

Which Rapashy?

I'm trying to get "caught up" on the newest and best supplements after being out of the hobby/lifestyle for some years. Rep-cal pink lable used to be the way to go but it looks like Rapashy is the hot set up now. I cannot find it locally so I'm forced to order it online. It looks like they...

Re: Any hunters out there...

I'm an avid deer hunter both bow and rifle. When it's not deer season, it's coyote season! Yes, I am an animal lover but I also hunt. Took all four of these in Tennessee this year. I also do my own taxidermy!

Different way of venting Lexan lids

I like to use these little round screen vents in my lids. I found them while looking for materials to build tarantula enclosures for my wife's "babies"! They come in two sizes (2"+1"). Holes can easily be cut in Lexan with a standard hole saw. They have aluminum tabs that are ben...

Re: My 2new Tincs in their temp viv

Nice! They look nice and healthy. Good size and nice big legs. Yeah! I picked the largest, chubbiest ones that Josh's had at the show. I totally a forgot what an obsession these little guys could be. I'm trying to leave them alone while they settle in but I find myself staring into the tank a littl...

Re: Food dusting - best supplement ?

Thank you for the quick response Phil. In the past, I've dusted at least every other feeding. In the meantime, should I use the Rep-Cal?

Food dusting - best supplement ?

Is Rep-Cal ( pink label ) still the hot set up for dusting FF's? I used to use it years ago. Not too many pet shops in my area but I can get the Rep-Cal. I want the best I can get locally. Have the frogs since Sunday and have fed every day without supplementation. My bad! Forgot to pick it up when I...

Best way to sterilize collected leaf litter?

Hi Fellow Froggers! I just got back into the hobby (lifestyle) after some years off. In the past, I used to sterilize my collected leaf litter of any parasites by baking in in the oven. I'm sure that a lot has changed over the years and from reading posts on this forum, there are members out there w...

Re: Getting back into the hobby ( lifestyle)!

The guy's name was Zach. I did a search online and yes, they are "Cit's"! I really need to go through some boxes and find all of my books and literature.
Thanks for bringing me up to speed on these little guys!
