Re: Is mixing Phyllobates terribilis Morphs ok ??

I've kept mixed tanks for well over a decade now. If you do not want baby frogs simply cull the eggs. If you end up with babies enjoy them and/or be responsible when people ask about them. Other then that, do your research.

I have always liked the look of those. I wish they were a larger species.

Re: Specific Breed Mixing Question

Your setup is way too small for even a pair of frogs. I keep mixed setups and help others get started so if you have any questions feel free to PM me. Potentially the four frogs you have can easily be kept together but not in your current setup. I see these are your first post so I would say do a li...

Re: "Hybridizing”,Cross-breeding and Mixing Dart Frogs

uh...you said it yourself...'Underground". So NATURALLY we must assume that you mean the 'vast hybrid underground'. No spin here...embrace it. Are you now suddenly squeamish about your mixed frogs ? The amount of interest you receive is still considered 'tiny' by our hobby numbers. Interest in...

Re: "Hybridizing”,Cross-breeding and Mixing Dart Frogs

The 'Hybrid Underground'...dude come on! That's just ridiculous. Anyone that's been in the hobby for 3 plus years knows there is no such thing. You MAY get an odd PM or two and that's about it. I figured you would pull something out of the post you could put your spin on. Where did you quote the &q...

Re: "Hybridizing”,Cross-breeding and Mixing Dart Frogs

the majority of people don't post on forums because they are lazy, and if they are so thin skinned as to not come back after 'harsh harsh harsh' treatment then they aren't probably going to be serious and stick with the hobby anyway. We welcome all viewpoints but don't expect coddling or handholdin...

Re: "Hybridizing”,Cross-breeding and Mixing Dart Frogs

Since I have hybrid frogs and am open and honest about having them, I get to see more hybrids then I probably normally would. What I think people are overlooking is that most hybrids or frogs that the owner may think is possibly a hybrid do not look different then a non hybrid frog. Honesty by the o...

Re: USPS problem!!

Chalk it up to shit happens. I have used usps, fedex, and ups. They have all done a great job almost every time I used them and yet all of them have mishandled a package in some way. I do not believe, unless something has changed, that any of the three give any sort of a guarantee on live goods. Nor...

Re: the NEW Mantis shrimp oatmeal cartoon !!!

I had two peacock mantis shrimp. They were approx 6-8" in length. I would say that mantis shrimp and octopus have been by far the coolest animals I have ever kept hands down. The personality they displayed is amazing. It is also extremely extremely rare for them to crack a tank.

Re: albino Ranitomaya imitator "Tarapoto"- Pics

This is a breeding thread. Pictures for pictures' sake belong in the photo threads. Pretty simple. Exactly what is wrong with civil debate revolving around breeding? Actual contribution was happening, as opposed to needless complaints. I agree Rich, since this is in the breeding section I ca...

I love my hybrids. Really cool looking frogs. They are by far the ones most noted and looked at when i have other frogger to the house.

Phil, Can we pull the drama out of this thread and start it's own drama debate thread. Some of us were interested in the development of the frogs not all the back and forth debate. I agree with Rich here. I see civility, inquiry, discussion and a splash of debate - all pretty healthy and accurate t...

Re: NEW classified Ad Policy here on Dart Den.

The already shady characters will simply put a name to their unknown breeder frogs to bypass this rule and those on the fence may be persuaded to do so just to sell their frogs. I'd much rather keep the truth option available to the honest people in the hobby. I'd rather buy an unknown frog from som...

The black foam is definitely worth the extra cost. Any Ace store can order it for you or you can order it online at acehardware.com and have it shipped to the closest ACE store for free.
