Re: Sean Stewarts Green Tree Python and ETBs !

Gtp's are my favorite but I only have one. been meaning to find her a propper male for quite some time. She's a killer looking high yellow biak type July of 05 hatch I picked up at the Dayton beach show. She's my baby. Very shy and well tempered for a biak type. had her since she was just a tiny lit...

Re: Cold Weather Power Outages

Heavy duty quilt. Lots of insulation. You could always keep a bunch of 60 hour shipping heat packs as well to place between the quilt and the glass of the tank to raise it a few degrees. Or several phase 22 and large foam coolers like a giant shipping container that's going nowhere. Shit gets severe...

Re: Thin flat Cork Tiles for backgrounds !

Also some of them have an adhesive on one side for mounting which isn't good. Mine don't have the adhesive but the ones Menard's has right now do have it

Re: Thin flat Cork Tiles for backgrounds !

They carry these at Menard's as well and their cheaper but I think they only have three in them. I have some and they are right. They smell like campfire smoke. Iv had some for a few years and soaked them in water well to try and remove the smell but to this day I can still smell it and its allways ...

Re: Shipping in cold temperatures

Even though iv done it in the past I would caution against putting a heat pack right inside of the outer cardboard box. I talked to a fed ex worker once about it and she said if someone is handling the package and they notice its giving off heat they may flag the package which could cause them to de...

Re: Cleaning Driftwood ?

A good buddy of mine who is also a member here fished a huge peice of wood from the river about two hears ago. Way to large for baking or boiling. He gave it a long soak in a barrel with a 40lb bag of salt followed by repeated soaks in clean fresh water to flush any remaining salt from the log. No o...

Re: home depot orchids?

I would assume they are used phil. From what I'm told by a friend who used to work for a plant caretaking service Systemic pestacides could take up to 6 weeks for them to burn it off. Apparently they do that by respiration and not releasing it into the soil which is a good thing IMO. With non system...

Re: home depot orchids?

None of mine are mounted upside down and they all receive a pretty direct spray. One in particular is pretty much right in front of a set of heads way up high and has done fine for almost 2 years. None have anything around the roots though so their fully exposed on the wood. I'm not having a problem...

Iv used several phalo. Orchids from Lowes and HD and all seem to have done just fine. They all have bloomed for me repeatedly after putting them in viv and establishing.

Re: "Hybridizing”,Cross-breeding and Mixing Dart Frogs

People wanting to create hybryds couldn't continue to do so without people keeping pure frogs for them to acquire to crossbreed and make what they want. So actually we aren't messing anything up for them at all. However people making hybryds have made it necessary to be a lot more carefull when buyi...

Re: Poll - Excelsior, Coffee Filter ect for Fruit Fly Cultur

Iv been using egg crate recently. Not the plastic stuff used for false bottoms but the cardboard like stuff people use for their roach and cricket bins. I had a ton of it left over after I stopped ordering 7000crickets every other week and stopped breeding feeder roaches in bulk. I ran out of excels...
