I think the ideal would be an organic background material that: can be sculpted, will last a long time, will hold up to viv conditions (obviously), is inexpensive, can serve as a growing medium for plants, can be sourced easily, is attractive, and is easy to work with. I think right now the best we ...

Re: List of U.S Hobby Available Dart Frog Species/Morphs

Thanks for the reply Scott, I believe our personal views are pretty much in line with each other.
Hi Rich, you mentioned one of the main reasons I quit working on this list...lack of clear data. I realized that the list could be a nice guide but would never be complete.

Re: Animals that can live with dart frogs ?

Lepidodactylus lugubris is a possibility if you are dead-set on housing geckos with your frogs. Just be ready to cull eggs (they are prolific). Honestly though, you are better off just enjoying your frogs by themselves.

Re: List of U.S Hobby Available Dart Frog Species/Morphs

Hi Scott, I absolutely agree that no frog should be destroyed because of its legal status (I don't believe I've ever advocated for euthanasia). But I do think that ethical is most assuredly an acceptable term. There are some in the hobby who, once they found out their animals came from less-than-ste...

Re: Sick Frog Beginners Question

Those are relatively young to put into a larger viv...I would definitely suggest setting up a small growout for the skinny one: simple substrate (sphag or paper towels), a couple of mag leaves as hides and a clipping of pothos or philodendron. As a last resort, a buddy who wholesales wc imports diss...

Re: Oophaga Histrionica Bahia Solano

There's a guy out west that supposedly has a pair that "found its way" into an import about 6-7 years ago...but good luck getting in touch with him, stand a better chance of finding a back-door into Narnia. Probably just a rumor anyway. Sure are pretty frogs though.
