Re: Should Frog sale advertisements include prices ?

although it is hard to define what would be considered a common and widely available morph today and what would be common a year or two from now, maybe some breeders could post a range of prices per morph in the easier to find morphs. for example juveniles. 3 month old tincs like suriname cobalts an...

Re: Vacation - Leaving Frogs alone for days ?

Re: Tadpoles not surviving. Water ?

many good suggestions. i have found for me that spring water kept at room temperature is best. i add oak leaves to the water to make a very mild tadpole tea. in the tadpole cups i use this water along with a small oak leaf for cover. for feeding i alternate a spirulina/chlorella powder mix, occasion...

Re: Two Florida Species Declared Extinct

So again as I have said, developement in Florida is insane. On another note I spent a lot of time herping at Fisheating creek in the 80's. It was home to the nicest Yellow Ratsnakes I have ever seen, crisp , bright, banana yellow,as well as Silver with Red saddles Corn snakes, Used to be a herp fil...

Re: Two Florida Species Declared Extinct

very sad to hear. especially when they were both only fromm individual locales. i'm always amazed what developers are allowed to do all because of the almighty buck that goes into pockets due to taxes collected on all those new developments. when the loss of two very rare animals can be traced to de...

Re: Misting, Fogging, Ultrasonic Cool Mist, Hand Spraying ??

thanks phil good to know. my plants already grow like weeds with hand misting. i'd probably be pruning constantly with those sytems.

i wasn't quite sure how the systems worked as far as the pressure coming out of the outflow nozzles/ports but i'm glad there are no known issues. thanks

Re: Misting, Fogging, Ultrasonic Cool Mist, Hand Spraying ??

i use the hand misting system and it works well for me. i've been thinking about eventually having a misting system or ultrasonic. are there any frog safety issues associated with ultrasonic units or misting systems such as the amount of pressure expelled if a frog is directly in proximity of the mi...

Re: Assisting Tadpole out of egg

haven't had to assist out of an egg yet. sometimes a tad is stuck in the egg mass gel after hatching and i'll assist with that but haven't run into it with the eggs themselves. i have had some tads take about 3-4 days longer than average to break out of an egg but have noticed they are larger and ve...

Re: Should Frog sale advertisements include prices ?

i think yes for juveniles in the 3-4 month range. for sub-adults and adults asking for a potential buyer to emali for prices should be ok because the seller may have sub adults and adults at various different pricing due to age of the animal and of course sexed adults or pairs. but for 3-4 month juv...

phil, i must be having too much alcohol this weekend. you said proven developing eggs and tads. i said i as well thought proven meant developing eggs not just laid.i didn;t mention tads but developing eggs are still viable and i would think enough for the proven designation. so i agreed. i don't kno...
