Re: What is "Frog Flipping" ?

I would say no, I think several folks dumped their old questionable lines and some of those morphs had a decent drop in price but all in all due to the cost and the rarity these would not be thrown into the flipping category, of course there is always the exception with the rare instance of someone ...

Re: Thoughts on keeping 2.1 ratio Oophaga pumilio?

Actually Phil this question I believe was the result of an ad in which 2.1 groups of desirable Pumilio were made available, since the sports douche that got them had way too many males he only offered them as 2.1's, so if you wanted a pair you had to buy an extra male. I have no doubt most were assu...

Re: Pay it forward: advice on setting up a breeding program

...great post Jim, having local friends who can help with projects makes these things easier to pull off and is a safe guard against unexpected heating/cooling system failure. If you ever need help with stewardship I am in. Zach good to see MY yellow Fants are still in the hobby, I begged Mark P to ...

and the blue ones all originated from Bill Samples and a small group he brought in from Colombia in the late 90's, they are a separate morph. I know Todd K and Robert from Idaho produced quite a few of these guys.

Re: 3 male Escudo for trade/loan

3 males Phil I do not question their life style and I will NOT judge them, 10/11 month old CB and 1 LTC WC. I know the CB siblings have been viable, I would only guess there would be no fertility issues with these guys....provided that is what they choose.

3 male Escudo for trade/loan

I have 3 male escudo, 1 import from last year and 2 CB F1's that are almost a year old now. I have not been able to find a female so I am offering these guys up as a trade or breeding loan for any who may have females. Just PM me.

Re: Historic Oophaga lineages?

bet you could count surviving lines from the 90's of these frogs on one hand (maybe 2 fingers), anyone lucky enough to get healthy frogs to start with coupled with proper husbandry (for back then), reproduction was low, viability was poor, I am surprised that the 2 or 3 I think I know of are still a...

Re: Colubre pumilio for sale

I tried to work things out with Sid but 4 or 5 promises of "I swear the $$ will be there" and then several I will take your frogs to a mutual party in Austin all ended up being lies....surprise surprise. I have filed a police report in Brownsville for fraud and theft, let's hope justice is...

Re: Colubre pumilio for sale

Well another "I swear you will get the money on Wednesday" has come and gone and now total silence...the silence of you will never get paid. I spoke to a fraud detective in Brownesville, I have been instructed as to how to proceed and will let you all know if when and if anything else happ...

Re: Colubre pumilio for sale

Beth I don't honestly think Sid had me send them to the UPS store to file a claim, though by doing that I voided my protection. Paypal told me if the buyer alerts paypal to an address change request the seller protection stays in place. Sid told me he had some problems in Mexico with some charges an...

Re: Colubre pumilio for sale

As an FYI Sidney owes me $550 + a female Escudo for these frogs, I realize I will never get the female Escudo but my hope is I can reclaim the $550. And yes I know it was dumb to keep Sid in the hobby but he seemed pretty sincere in saying he had changed and he does have a lot of passion for the fro...

Re: Poll - Forums vs Facebook

Also see "The Frog Whisperer" ... Even though Shawn sells a lot of frogs through Face Book (at least I assume he does as I really don't know) he also advertises on forums and as far as I know has not been uninvited on any forum, per Rich's reference. He also has supplied good quality anim...

Re: Poll - Forums vs Facebook

Everyone here is being 'safe and kind' with their answers, but seriously...there are some HUGE attempts to make facebook the mainstream venue for all things Dart Frog. I still have my doubts as to how it could 'work' or be effective other than a blog-type thing, but hey...it IS happening more and m...

Re: Dart Frogs 'Best kept in pairs only" advice ?

Groups can be really hard....or get along great but usually the 1.2 type though I have seen and heard of 10 -15 in a 30 high, Intermedius, got along well and the guy would not pull any. Same person found 25 Castaneoticus in a 40 cube when he broke it down and he had no idea that many were even there...

Re: Dendrobatenwelt - website with 1050 pictures

Yes still a live site but nothing new for several years, I have sent them a couple of emails over the years with no response so I wonder if anyone is administrating the site over there. Or perhaps we delete questions from the stupid Americans. I sent them one today asking about some pics, I will let...

Re: Appropriate age to post froglets for sale

For me it is has worked well to sell Pumilio and Dendrobates at the 3 month mark, though I have sold younger when handing off to someone in person (my Last Cemetary's were huge at 2 months when I handed them off to Chris Kennedy and 1 is now calling at 4.5 months). Thumbs which mature so quickly are...

Re: Granuliferus, Black Jean, Blue Jean imports?

I know you didn't call anyone names Beth but in Rich's request for info from the seller he has implied that this persons frogs are from a tainted back ground, no doubt this could be immediately put to bed should Brad who I agree popped up out of no where would explain his back ground a bit. The guy ...
