Re: how soon to pull imitator tads ?

Last week I saw a couple eggs in an easy to reach spot so I took those out and put them on a petri dish. They just hatched over the last couple of days and are doing fine (separately).

Re: JayMillz Vivariums - Pics

Here's some updated photos of some vivs. I just finished a 40g for the trio of cobalts. They will go in there after a couple more weeks to get the microfauna and plants established. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/08/18/3dbcfe86dea6ba6c72156da3f0dad528.jpg http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/0...

Re: Leucomelas 1st clutch

Congrats, Josh! It's especially exciting when you get a different group to produce eggs, isn't it? Yeah it is! I have 4 tads in the water now and they laid a 2nd clutch but it isn't looking like it will be good. They will figure it out over time. I found a tiny and unexpected terrib froglet in anot...

Re: mixing dendrobates auratus ?

If they are opposite sex of the Alto and are healthy, yeah there would be a pretty good chance of some crossbreeding action with fertile offspring I would guess. Is building 2 vivs an option for you?

Re: Hope this helps someone-millipedes in transfered viv

Hey Morton thanks for the great advice! I will keep that in mind if I ever come across the problem again. That option sounds like a heck of a lot less time and labor ;)

Leucomelas 1st clutch

There have been four frogs housed in a 72 gallon bowfront for 13 months. They were probably 6 months old when I got them. I just found the first clutch today. I hope they make it. I think the leucomelas froglets look so cool. This would also be successful group #3 for me. I think I'm starting to get...

Re: Hope this helps someone

They're an eyesore to me. I flushed 5 adults and squished about 20 juvies last night then started the cleaning grind when I woke up. Yeah it could be worse though. On the plus side, I like the new frogs. My wife just got frogs of her own a couple of days ago too. She snagged up a trio of whites tree...

Hope this helps someone-millipedes in transfered viv

About 2 weeks ago I traded some froglets off to some people locally and ended up taking home a proven pair of bicolors and the 18 18 24 exoterra they lived in. If I could redo the experience I think I would've done it differently. Next time I have the option to take a viv home I am going to inspect ...

Re: Need some help quickly

Wandering Jew has been a pretty hardy plant for me. I've got some in multiple locations in the house. Some I didn't expect to live because of the amount of light but it's still going strong. Do you have any spare small flower pots or anything? I'm no plant expert either haha I've probably killed mor...

Re: Submit a photo here for POTM

The male called the 2 female over from across the viv. Perhaps it was to debate on who is the mommy? Or maybe it was just time for a happy polygamy family photo. http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r564/joshmiller651/001_zps0913da6b.jpg http://i1172.photobucket.com/albums/r564/joshmiller651/015_zpsa...

Re: Found Some Tads

Congrats on the little guys Bradley! Looks that one has been eluding you for a while but I'm sure you will be seeing a lot of it over the next several weeks. I like the layout of the viv you have them in too.

Re: How fast does a female lay eggs?

Thanks for the replies. I assumed it does take a while for them to deposit eggs because of how long they sit in an area.

Re: Testing question

It won't hurt by any means, it will just bring you extra peace of mind. If you have the extra $20 or whatever your vet charges, then why not? What if the seller did test their frogs, but perhaps they collected old fecal samples which would give false positives? If you have the extra cash, go for it.

Haha their destruction reminds me of when I was finally ready to put my Leucs in their bowfront. Hopefully you can get some of those plants to bounce back!

Thanks Wes. I found some fresh terrib eggs yesterday and it just got me thinking about how fast that process happens haha
