Interesting find, thanks for posting. Feel bad that they flush the frog's stomach.

Re: 9/1/15 Tesoros import NYC !!

Phil, you are correct to a certain degree. I am guilty of this, I don't have any updates on the first shipment but I did get a trio of Yellow Lehmanni in their second import. I've only had them a few months. I keep a pair in a 30 x 24 x 24 and the third one ( unsexed ) not sure if he tried to call, ...

Re: Termites - All general info

I want to use them for my frogs but I am terrified that I will end up with an infestation. What can go wrong usually goes wrong with me. If I understand the make up of the colony correctly, it needs a queen in order to produce but with my luck a queen will be present.

Just clean the soil off it and plant it in the viv. I've done the exact thing numerous times.

Re: Temperature Gun Use?

Mine is fairly new and does not work through glass, it was also mentioned earlier in this post that a temp gun was tested and did not work through glass. Maybe there is a specific model that does?

Re: Mold in frog tank

I believe most of the mold will be consumed by your micro fauna, the red slimy mold never seen before in a Viv only in reef tanks. Pics would be helpful, some other members might provide you with some more insight.

Sherman, I would not say it wasn't productive. Any Information that comes from these discussions should always be welcome. Maybe, some forum members that have some of these frogs might have some documentation that they will share. I myself have a beautiful pair of Red Heads that were acquired by a w...

Re: Historic Oophaga lineages?

I am wondering if crickets were the norm in feeding these frogs in the 90's, then I would think the crickets were gut loaded. When I kept lizards in the 90's it was common practice to gut load the crickets. This procedure would have been beneficial to the frogs health.

Re: Historic Oophaga lineages?

I agree, if anyone had any data, pics, etc and would share the information it would be a great help. However, in my opinion these frogs that came in the 90's according to some threads that I have read were no big deal. I have even read that some Histos were used as filler in fish shipments. My point...

My friend HistoCrazy just ordered one, not sure if he is going to connect it to his sump or to the Viv directly. Hopefully he will post some info when he sets it up.
