Re: Repticon Atlanta April 11-12, 2015

That is very true. Fortunately the hobby is growing some in the Atlanta area lately. There is a Facebook page specifically for Atlanta Area Froggers that has been gaining a lot of steam lately which is great news. I, on the other hand, live about 2 hours South of Atlanta in a veritable frog wastelan...

Repticon Atlanta April 11-12, 2015

Is anyone going to Repticon Atlanta this coming up weekend? Just trying to get a feel for what to expect as far as vendors goes. I haven't been to an expo in several years and this will actually be the first in Atlanta for me. I'm hoping I can find a vendor selling Highland Bronze Auratus so if anyo...

Re: Just what IS the Dart Frog Hobby anyway ?

Number 1 really hits close to home for me. Since I was a very small child I've been fascinated with herps. While other kids wanted to be a astronaut or a firefighter, I always wanted to be a zoo keeper (until I found out what a herpetologist was). I never really had the opportunity to pursue those d...

Re: RIP Bill Schwinn

I heard the news last night. Truly a devastating loss to the community. I've been in the hobby for about 10 years now and Bill stands out as someone I've learned the most from about dart frogs during that time. A great guy who was always willing to help a fellow frogger. His wisdom and knowledge wil...

Re: Small and unusual plants for a terrarium or vivarium

I know this is an old thread but what is the plant in the second post, first picture? Looks awesome! Sent from my LG-LG730 using Tapatalk Some sort of begonia...uncommon. I'll try to get you the species name. Thanks!! That would be great. I'd like to try to get this for my 90 gallon build. Sent fro...

Re: "Golden" Dendrobates auratus - Sean Stewart's Frog Barn

I think he meant that they are not often talked about on the boards or elsewhere. If you take a look around, there are very few threads showing them off or providing much info on them. Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. I know Sean has them on his website, but who is actually buying these frogs fro...

Re: "Golden" Dendrobates auratus - Sean Stewart's Frog Barn

I'm glad this thread was resurrected as I've been wondering about the fate of the "Golden" Auratus since I got back into the hobby earlier this year. You would think that they are an illegal frog the way they seem to "fly under the radar".

Re: Female Tinc on Male aggression

I've seen this type of behavior with a 1.1 pair of Azureus. I had a female Azureus that I paired up with a young male and she bullied him to death, literally. Like you noted, by the time I realized what was going on, it was too late to save him. Very odd behavior.

Re: Curious re pumilio genus classification

The change was fairly recent (last 5 years or so) if I recall correctly. I remember most darts were classified as Dendrobates when I first entered the hobby and I've only been in the hobby 10 years or so.

Male to trade for Female Banded Leuc

I know this is probably a long shot, but it turns out my group of Banded Leucs have all turned out to be males, so I'm looking for someone who may have an extra female and is looking for a male to trade. These are F2 "Nish" line Banded Leucomelas originally from Zach Brinks and are 2+ year...

Re: Greetings and Salutations from California

Welcome to the addiction! Great choice on your frog dart species as well. I keep Orange Terribilis and love them. Big, bold, and beautiful frog. Doesn't get much better than that in my opinion. Keep us updated on your progress. Sounds like you are definitely headed in the right direction!
