Re: Tropiflora Open house yesterday...

Dan I always tell people Tropiflora is like a reef store, you walk around 2 or 3 times you keep seeing something you missed, so many cool small Neo's. These days I usually just pull broms from the pots around my pool but I can never resist a new pick up now and then, they have sooo much odd stuff. M...

Don't forget about spicy wings and cold beer...a good time had by all, thanks for coming down. I am going back over today, too hungry to look at everything yesterday.

Florida Mini Meet/Tropiflora Open House Sat April 6

Since most people loved going to Tropiflora during the past 2 open houses I have had a thought I would have a mini meet before the Tropiflora Spring Fling Saturday April 6th. Anyone can arrive at my house around 11 and after a couple of hours to allow for those coming from afar and to do some frog t...

Re: Dart Frog "Farms", do they exist ?

Re: Granuliferus, Black Jean, Blue Jean imports?

My guess would be this, the last big batch of frogs Josh Lucas wanted to dump went to Taron since no one would buy from Josh any longer. Josh is on a crusade to put together all the rarest obligates he can find and has several times imported frogs from Europe, since Josh and Taron are only a few ho...

Re: 'Paru' sylvatica - PICS !

Rich you would be well served to read what Luis Coloma wrote about this population. You now state that putting different frogs of this population together is mixing....would I say that what Understory imported is one locale, absolutely. To have a scientist say these frogs show amazing variability wi...

Re: Atlanta Botanical Gardens - Pics !

Pretty sure they have several morphs running around in there, I doubt that all are pure but I am sure there are some pockets that are. very cool place indeed. Phil I am not aware they ever had Histo's free randing in there, Pumilio yes and they are likley still there, breeding in a canopy area in so...

Re: Next weeks pumilio shipment!

No I don't need proof Rich...but finding that after accusations had been made and that proof was not forth coming it would cast doubt. Proof that I thought would be readily shared since it was fact. After Sid's accusations about your frogs (accusations that I assume were made up) I figured you for o...

Re: Next weeks pumilio shipment!

Honestly Rich to validate this claim if someone has facts why would they be afraid to share them. Facts should be indesputable and would certainly eliminate any questions surronding this situation. Would you not yourself prefer these facts be made public to take every shred of doubt away?

Re: Next weeks pumilio shipment!

I lost 2 large collections in the 90's from Chytrid that came from cb frogs from Europe, it was before anyone knew what Chytrid was....unreal what I lost then. Knowing something may be out there and warning the community is a responsibility I do not take lightly however the person that had the testi...

Re: Next weeks pumilio shipment!

The email I saw said negative for Chytrid, I guess the implications of a virus that may not do anything to out collections needs to be determined. Reading on a European site it said many of us have it but without testing we would never know it, does it do any damage?

Re: Next weeks pumilio shipment!

OK rather than be vague I heard today that some of the pumilio tested positive for Rana Virus, I have also read that many of us may have Rana Virus in our collection and not know it until we test for it...so what is the effect, I don't know. On my earlier post I meant the Salt Creeks in Europe went ...

Re: Next weeks pumilio shipment!

I got SC from the first shipment, sold 2 females and kept 1.3...I also had 1 frog disappear during QT and squashed a super nice looking male under a piece of tank decor when I broke them into 2 groups last week. Hence what was going to be 1.1 and 1.2 has turned into 1.3. Aside from the rumors starti...

Re: Next weeks pumilio shipment!

Rich I would say that the info on some of these frogs is dead on (Escudo, Basti, Loma), and yes on some vague(Popa, Cristobal, Salt Creek)...and some no info at all (Almirante, Man Creek). Strictly has always just sold Pumilio, it is we the hobby who have told them what they are selling. As for purp...
