At least it was that way. There's been a push as of late to buy up albinos and anything different.

Re: Making money in the Dart Frog Hobby ?

The issue with the snake hobby is you only make money if you stay ahead of the game on the morph race. Otherwise you need to just stick to whats always been a fav and that albino burms, they havent dropped in value in ten years and wont. Unless your breeding something unique you better just like bei...

Re: North Texas frog meet - Sat, Oct 22

There was a time or two, when the East Coast - MADS groups needed to ask for weapons checks and just recently, anti-theft devices. My advice...try to find a couple "large sized" Texans to help out with security. The good news is.....you guys down there have a bunch of people and a lot of ...

Re: Field Herping and Exploration Check-List

Got to learn to survive off way less that that Phil. I like the list, its great to take all that with you out of the country but you risk looking like a tourist and that makes you ver vulnerable. Leaving this stuff in your room while your in the jungle is a mistake as well. I lost a few items and a ...

Re: Shipping Tadpoles - Good practice ?

I agree with the shipping them like fish, smaller fish bags in insulated boxes work well when packed secure. I disagree with the Most Reputable breeders part. Now Most who consider themselves a business may not as they lose money selling tads but tads are sold all the time by many. Its as easy as se...

Re: Shipping Tadpoles - Good practice ?

Shipping tads isnt too hard when done right.. Ive probably shipped a thousand over the years but most were tincs and auratus. Now there is an issue to LAG I think if you take someones money and shipping funds your should be held responsible. Its your choice to ship them and sell them so whats with t...

Re: Making money in the Dart Frog Hobby ?

And still I only know a few who actually have the ability to make a living off the hobby. Primarily breeding darts. Its really becomming more common now than over a year ago when this was brought up. Only issue is they are buying up provens and then asking questions. The lack of knowledge, contacts ...

Re: What Frogs to Add?

Why not just ask the kids what they would like to see, Give them a few options. As long as the viv is build to suit the frogs you choose to use its just a matter of space as an issue. I do think larger frogs are more interesting and way less likely to get stressed out by a bunch of kids.

Re: What Frogs to Add?

yes I know the footprint but you dont get 20 gallons of usable space once its setup. I would think you would want to use a very bold frog since its for the kids. As far as how many is where we will likely disagree.

Re: What Frogs to Add?

I agree with Phil, The viv is too small for my own interest as I see most thumbs being too active for a terrestrial 15 but your talking about kids being infront of it on a daily basis. I would go with something very bold and less fragile and not likely to be so stressed. Id go with a couple male tin...

Re: TWI Taxon Management / ASN - is it working ?

There's already too much doubt built up in this plan and organization. I would like to see a hobby wide data base but it wont be them who pulls it off. There are flaws in it as well Ive talked to Ed about in the past.
