Re: ideas on managing limited founders stock

Hey Jim, Sorry I haven't gotten back to you before now. I got busy and kind of forgot... I personally would not worry about the rotations. Because these are all very likely related at some point (or at best the old EU are unrelated by highly watered down and inbred), I would recommend focusing on pr...

Re: ideas on managing limited founders stock

Jim, the difficulty with this is that we have no idea where the founder animals of either of these "lines" actually came from. We know that Sean's are originally from EU, but where did UE get theirs from? As far as I know, they've never done any importing with species not from Peru, CR (th...

Re: EXO TERRA good to use?

Hi I am going to buy Exo Terra terrariums for my first darts. First of all what you think regarding the brand or it is better if I do them myself which I wish to have nice and clean terrariums that is why I considared Exo Terra, second should I go for 60x45x45cm or 60x45x60cm? I'd say either size w...

Re: Just wanted to share...

Thanks everyone. Yeah, Phil...they are pretty red, but I wouldn't describe them as Blue Jean red. They're more of a brick color. The male is fairly orange with a more reticulated pattern, but clearly mom's genes got passed down the the one froglet. We'll see if it fades over time. This locale seems ...

Phil, when you bought these, was Marcus selling them as "Spotted El Dorado"?

I don't think it matters. We call our children "kids" which are technically young goats.

No sale ads get deleted. You need to change your "display options" at the bottom of the page to show older than "from the last two months"

Re: Mixing Ameeraga species?

Morten, I don't think my last post was as clear as it could have been. Species in the bassleri group can (as far as I know) breed with one another (i.e. bassleri x pepperi, bassleri x silverstonei, etc. hybrids should be viable), and species in the altamazonica group can do the same (i.e. altamazoni...

Re: Mixing Ameeraga species?

If you absolutely want to keep different colour frogs in the same setup, then you should consider looking for some species which can not combine DNA across localities/species. Not advocating the practice of mixing, but for what it's worth, species in the bassleri group (bassleri, pepper, trivs, sil...

Re: Jim from Austin's frog wall

Yeah, a friend of mine almost picked up a pair of the Robertus from Marcus last summer. I think I like them so much because their color/patterns can be so diverse...kind of like green sips. I agree on the Lorenzo's. They don't have the vibrant flashiness of some other tinc morphs, but they're really...

Re: Jim from Austin's frog wall

Jim, keep up the good work. I've never had much success with tincs, but you're definitely doing well with some under-kept locales. Your pictures also tempt me to try my hand at some when I have the space (which won't be for years unfortunately).

Re: I want to be a moderator.

I have just heard crazy stories in the past few days and it appears that a bunch of people are banned or about to be banned for having a different view points than a few mods. So now several froggers don't want to attend the MADS meet because North Korean Mods may attend. This annoys me... -Byron I...

Yes, I am. It used to be listed...I'm not sure what happened.

I am able to ship for the most part throughout the year as long as weather on the receiving side is conducive. We usually have a couple days per week with temps into the 70s.
