This may sound abit daft comming from a guy that is not really affluent, but what are the ways that we as frog keepers can give a little bit back to help preserve what little habitat our frogs have left..and therefore make our hobby more sustainable. At the moment my only direct route would be to patronise businesses like understory, are there others(although this is not completely straightfoward living in England but it is possible,we have some of their frogs already).I am thinking a bit more direct than wonderful organisations like WWF.
thankyou

Hi Stu,
dig a pond if you have not already! If you have a pond do a survey to see what amphibs use it. Provide some good terrestrial habitat for amphibs including hibernacula - all amphibs are in crisis and our native species need help too. Join your local ARG (Amphibian and Reptile Group) and get involved - you'll be amazed at what you can achieve.
Once you start breeding and selling your darts consider giving a % to amphib conservation - it does make you feel that you are putting something back - we give 10% to projects.
Regards
Marcus

Hi stu, I donate a small portion of my annual bonus to the British herpetological society every year, they buy & maintain small areas of land in the UK to provide refuge for our British herps
