Dart Den.com cobalt Logo origin ?

Postby Philsuma » Sun Apr 17, 2011 3:49 pm

So...just where did the Logo come from?

Well, Dart Den's founder - Corey Briere first used an actual photograph of one of his own Dendrobates tincorious "Cobalt" morphs.

When I bought the website, I decided on somewhat of a new look, but wished to retain as much of the original website, layout design and logo as possible - partly in tribute to Corey's good start back in 2004.

My friend Dan (DF20) drew the vector graphics for the frog as well as some other stuff, that will surface at some point, because its all so good, as well. I made sure the "new" cobalt was very similar in shape, pattern and colour AND was facing the same way. Superstituous ? Partly. Mostly, a tribute to the original site.

So...there's a bit o' history for ya. :D

Was it a 'bloodless coup'? or a hostile takeover?

Oh it was a "win- win". No doubt.

The alternative was that Corey was just gonna "turn off the light" on her....and I couldn't let that happen. This site is as old as DB and contains a boat-load of helpful threads, posts and pics. I was not going to let her go into the darkness !

Dart Den continues to live and breathe. Corey can still be as active here as he wants (he's dropped by quite a few times already) and I get a chance to roll up my sleeves and do some work. Fun stuff.

Excellent - like you say there is too much fabulous info here for it to be lost forever - so congratulations and thanks for keeping it available.
Nice to see some of the members that have vanished from the other forum are active here too.

Dart Den - home of the 'frog Illuminati'!

Regards
Marcus and Graham

"Frog Illuminati"...lol...that IS pretty darn hilarious. I could almost get sucked into it, and trying to make it "real". Heh.

Like Lord Blackwood

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention some other names that have been instrumental with "getting her back into running order"

Kris,Dan,Matt,Michael,Cindy....thank you all !
