Our "POTM" and it's appeal...

Postby Philsuma » Mon Jun 06, 2011 9:22 pm

I once had a discussion with my friend Bill Love, who in addition to being a skilled old school Herpetoculturist ,has been writing a column in Reptiles magazine and taking extraordinary photos of Herps all over the world for many years now. We discussed the immediate appeal and marketability of whatever animal graced the cover of Reptiles Magazine that month.

Bill surmised that if it were a Red Eyed Tree Frog, a Hogg Island Boa constrictor or even a Mata Mata - that requests and sales for that particular animal would increase greatly, after debuting on the cover that month.

Interestingly enough, I wonder if Rich is getting more inquires for......Grannies.

Food for thought 8)

Apparently....OUR POTM idea has much broader appeal than I expected. Several members of another Forum are wailing for one over there.

I personally love the idea of POTM. No matter if it's a frog, viv, or whatever. POTM gets 2 thumbs up from me :)

I would love to see a couple excellent submissions of Dart Frog Tats for a potential POTM.

It's hard for something small to translate well for the homepage marquee....I don't want to sound snobby.

Ever see that one dude on DB that has the back piece of the tiger brom and like 6 dart frogs ? I forget where he was from...

I have always liked POTM contest......

As far as the other forum I think they are over thinking it to the point of it being ridiculous.
