Proven pairs Wanted

Postby Dendrokurt » Wed Aug 27, 2014 1:17 pm

Hello I am having no luck on dendroboard finding any unusual uncommon to rare pairs of thumbnail or tinctorius so someone here please help me out. So far I have a lot of interested in Southern variabilis and I like the robertus tincts. I don't want to raise anything that's selling 35$ per froglet or anything too common in the hobby. I like color and something that's throws a variety of pattern. I also like frogs with loud calls but I wouldn't mind getting a sweet pair of tinctorius that not everyone and their mother is raising. Anyone here that can help me out?

Get frogs that YOU like. Tincs aren't going to be a gold mine, nor do they have loud calls.

I like things that are unusual. For example I drive a Honda element because it looks different than the everyday car. Tinctorius robertus are a really neat from I like them because of their unique color patterns and how muh they vary. I do have to say in leaning more towards a thumbnail species and I want something bold and has nice color. I really am wanting the southern variabilis because of that awseome neon green color with blue. However I'm open to other unusual proven pairs.

I don't think you are going to find "proven" Robertus available - there were limited imports in 2013 and a larger number of animals in 2014. From what I understand, no one has eggs yet from the 2014 imports, and I have not seen any CB animals offered yet. I think you're going to have to opt for unproven, sexed WC adults. Marcus has been posting them recently. You may want to reach out to him.

I can't offer much help on thumbs - I'm nearly all tincs :)

My bad yes I'm aware that there are none breeding yet in captivity I did inquire about them to Marcus but he must be extremely busy because I haven't heard back from him for over a week now. I hope he still has some available. What kind of tincts do you have?

Check out my footer -- azureus :: true sips :: robertus :: lorenzo :: bakhuis (and red galacts). I have a topic for each here on DD. Good luck in your search. Marcus is tough to get a hold of - phone is usually best.

Oh nice, you have some robertus?! How are they doing? Did you have any issues with them getting skinny after you first got them or any other health issues. I'm just a bit afraid of them getting something being wild caught

You know what I didn't know that you were the one who posted the extremely long health log and updates on the robertus. Your male is hefty!

Honda element is a great car. I have a blue 2006. Love it!

I was nervous about WC as well but after trading email with Dr Frye I felt better. He noted that in his experience WC fecals are typically cleaner than CB fecals he gets. It could be sampling bias, but likely due to prophylactic treatment. Mine were treated with baytril and panacur by both the exporter and importer. I would say stress is the biggest issue. Just watch them closely. And definately screen for BD. It's cheap and worth the peace of mind.

Yeah he's a pig. Not interested in the female at all...he just pounds the springtails all freakin day. Feel free to PM me or post to the Robertus thread if you have any questions.

I have a proven trio of southerns, definitely not a loud call. Not much variation from parents to offspring. Their colors are real nice and pretty bold for a thumb. Here's a pic of one of my females. Image

Are you selling your proven trio? Are they prolific for you?
