Shipping tadpoles or froglets to the Netherlands

Postby cobra_gerard » Thu Nov 03, 2005 6:51 pm

Hello, I am new here and I was wondering if anyone on this site is trading tadpoles? I am from the Netherlands that is why I ask. I trade once with someone from the UK but I don't know if this is allowed from the USA?
regards.

Gerard

hoi gerard,

Hi,
I didn't see "verboden" in Mack's answer, but anything that came from, is part of, was produced by, (eggs, tads, clippings, whatever,) a CITES animal needs to be accompanied by CITES import/export paperwork. Lots of froggers in Europe turn a blind eye to international laws(Mysteriosus is a PERFECT example), but it is law.
Take care,
Rich
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

Rich is 100% right You need CITIES papers to transport live, dead, or parts of any dart frog across a nations border. Another example of people ignoring CITIES regulations in this country are casti's. All casti's in this country in private collections are illegal. George

okay guys, thanks for the answers! @ Mack, are you from origine Dutch? You speak it well
Citespapers I know about, this is not a prpoblem if the frogs are special! Some like the E tricolor blue or black are species that I am looking for. I assume they are kept in the states or am I totally wrong about this? what for example are the species that you guys have and that are not common in Europe?

Regards, Gerard

hey gerard,

for rich and george, i mentioned papers and problems with weather for shipping to holland, and suggested some dutch websites.

Okay Mack,

that is nice to hear.
I also have tricolors:

Highlands
Normal tricolor ( everyone has this species)
And I think Moras Punga, but I am not sure of that! I have only 2 females off them, so no tadpoles. Can You post a pic from the Moras Punga? I looked at the site you have mentioned, but I suppose the site is down.....
Nothing shows up.
And how does the Isabel look like? I am very curious....

Regards,

Gerard
