Members Only Sub Forums !

Postby Philsuma » Sun Jun 05, 2011 11:39 pm

For all guests and new people visiting Dart Den.com

ALL care and husbandry threads and posts will ALWAYS be visible to all - members and guests (non members) alike. I feel that all such important information should always be free and easily available. It always will be so, as long as I own DD.

...But inorder to view the "controversial and adult oriented" Soapbox and Vendor / Transaction Feedback forums, you must indeed register and become a member here on Dart Den. The reason for this is NOT to garner membership numbers. It is simple to insulate this website from attack and possible lawsuits. That only registered members who have AGREED (by clicking and creating an account / Screen Name here on DD) to our Terms of Service (TOS)/ Contact and User Agreement can view those forums and that no one can simply stumble onto them and claim they were hurt or injured by seeing harsh, adult words or feedback for someone.

But there are subforums that require membership inorder to view the threads, and they are:

1. Transaction Feedback and Vendor Ratings - Liability issues makes this forum "members only" (TOS Agreement).

2. The Soapbox - Liability issues / adult language makes this forum "members only" (TOS Agreement).

You must Register and Join Dart Den.com to be able to view the above four (04) subforums.

Here's a link to the "Soapbox" - which is one of the members only forums, or subforums depending on how you look at it...

See if you can click this link and get in and look around:

Yes, but I assumed (incorrectly) that the bold face type in the above "Sub Forum" post would enable me to click on them--but no, I did have to go to the Vendor Feedback, etc. location...dumb, dumb, dumb...

Again....to reiterate. The "Transaction / Vendor Feedback" subforum is only viewable by registered members here.

Why is that you may ask ?

Why, it's solely to get people to join Dart Den and get ME ratings !

The REASON, is because since only members can view that area (feedback), they MUST have clicked on, and therefore fully agreed to the Terms of Service Contract Agreement / Rules here. THAT way, no one that has butt-load of bad reviews and posts can cry to me and claim:

"You've slandered my name/business/family/dog/ect by allowing all those bad people to say all those bad things about me on your interweb forum for everyone in the world to see".

Nope.

Only members can see that subforum and that includes YOU, as you have signed up here.

It's not perfect and 100% "sue-proof", but it's reasonable and a good step for some insulation.
