Oh I dunno....buying frogs from someone insisting on meeting behind the show venue....in an alley...

it seems @ only 25% of the hobby has any appreciable POSITIVE outlook that hobbyists would steer clear of 'bad people'.

so...75% of all hobbyists think, 'eh...so what if the frogs are sketchy, as long as I can have em'.

Sobering, but true. We gotta be real here. This doesn't mean we throw our hands up or give up though. I guess it just comes down to 'look in the mirror time', or how well you sleep at night.

The allure (sickness) of the 'gotta gotta have it' frog. It strikes down both commoner and King. The case of a 'Forum helper' succumbing to this is not meant to embarrass or slam member or forum. I think it's better used as an illustration or a cautionary tale of 'what can happen' to anyone. And as evidenced by the disparity over the ethics of the person offering the gotta have frogs....a percentage of the hobby and obviously the person above, may not consider anything there to be wrong. Thats how debatable this all is.

The real HIGH end of the spectrum is Paul B. keeping money that people sent him for....some, not all....questionable frogs.

I remember paul. made me think about some of the other guys that seemed ok but where not. I remember one who wanted money to help save the frogs in brazil because of a dam project. never was sure about that one. don't think I ever see him posting anymore.

Phil I think you saw a handful of folks support not buying these frogs, or the majority if you look at the posters on DB however overall you are right, probably 75% of the people would have bought if given the chance. Now if we see USFW go after the first import and confiscate that would truly be something and should be an easy line to follow. Too bad the peacock tincs weren't flaunted so the same could happen to them.
