how about adding:
"I regularly undertake practical conservation tasks focused on amphibians".
We do and suspect others do too.

I have volunteered to do field work with the Museum of Natural Sciences to track chytrid in NC.
Do you know where your frogs have been?

Volunteering with projects and self initiatives are great too. It's not possible to do "too much".
I just wanted to get a quick sampling of our members who have joined an organization, and if so, which one.

Oops! Sorry. I should have read more carefully. Scratch my vote off of number 4.

Anyone turned off by an annual fee amount to remain a member ?
Sounds horrible, but I am. I just can't justify a yearly ANYTHING. I don't pay annual credit card fees. Any CC offer than wants an annual fee gets thrown in the trash.
Just about the only annual fee that I would consider paying would be dues to a professional organization or the like. I would think most people simply don't have a budget for an annual membership fee for most any type of organization.

Oh yeah...I'm cool with any sort of DONATION....as long as it's on my timetable and means. Donation is way different than annual membership fee.

This is true. Being a member of local reef clubs, it was annoying getting the annual membership fee is due. I really gained nothing by being a member of the local reef club. The occasional discount and discount off water filters was about it.

TWI/ASN membership fees anually or as otherwise noted;
Amount* $20.00Student Member (1 year)
$35.00Contributing Member (1 year)
$55.00Supporting Member (1 year)
$100.00Silver Member (1 year)
$150.00Gold Member (2 year)
$200.00Platinum Member (3 year)
I'm not sure that this looks as if it's a "donation" program. Like the street fairs which have thugs out front collecting 'donations' to get in. Try saying 'I'd prefer to donate a dollar, it's all I can afford right now."
And, $20 for a student ...please.
I'd have no issue paying a membership fee if I thought the organization was actually doing anything for the dart hobby , or even as a conservation movement for our darts. It's not though, plain and simple. Anybody with a good ASN assention story yet? Anybody? And that's the only thing in the works which can potentially help our dart hobby at this time pertaining to TWI/ASN.
It's either time to hire someone with that cash they collect , every year, from every member, or it's time to edit the website. Probably both.
If you are going to join an organization, know exactly what you are giving and what our frogs are getting.
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

Though not as vocal as Rich on the subject, I sadly agree with his sentiment. It is sad when noble ideals do not receive the support they need for whatever reason. Not placing blame, of course. I joined up ready to embrace the stated goal and found a pretty sparse level of interest from the body as a whole. I thought the TMP's would generate some momentum, but very few folks from the hobby have even accessed them (that I speak to...not generally).
Anyway, I don't want this to sound like criticism. It is merely my personal experience. I am sure I could have done more to get something out of it. All I got was the option to change my forum tag color...which I declined once I saw the company I would be keeping lol.

I just want to know who gave money to Save The Frogs???? Almost as bad as PETA/ELF!
