Froglet (grow-out) tank size ?

Hey there everyone. I'll be having 10 vittatus tads, 5 Santa Isabel tads, and 5 auratus tads morphing within the next month or so. I was wondering what all of you use for froglet tanks? I really want to be able to see through the sides, and I think the top should be clear so the pot OS sprig they'll be getting can get light. Besides that, I think the frogs would appreciate being able to see their food. :mrgreen:

I'd love some ideas.

The most common "grow out" container is the sterlite or KIS container. Most are clear plastic tote sizes - "sweater box" is the term or even slightly bigger.

I was always partial to the KIS containers - only found at KMART....not S-MART. They have the 100% crystal clear lids that I love. They are not totally cheap and maybe a 10 gallon fish tank may even be cheaper (on sale) but they are unbreakable, stackable and easy to clean. I would use nothing else.

do NOT get the type of container with the locking lid and gasket....airtight....not good....

Most often for the first few months I use the 190 ounce round containers sold by Josh or superior enterprises. Clear on all 'sides'. As they get older I move them to larger enclosures: 10 gallon tanks; sterilite type containers with clear lids in equivalent 10 and 20 gallon sizes (locking lids, on ends, plenty of air). Can post picks in the next few days of the different set ups.

I ended up stocking up with (20) 190oz froglet tanks from Joshsfrogs. I keep 4 froglets in each, separated by species. They have a sprig of pothos, and a sprig of some other type of plant I got with large, broad leaves that is growing like a weed, and acts as great visual blinds for these little guys. They're in about 2" of damp sphagnum moss infused with about a 24oz culture of springs scooped from my master culture (which is really diminishing now because of this). It's working out well. The froglets are also eating the flies well, so all is well. They're nice, plump, and active.
