Hey All,
I have been working on this list as a personal reference, but thought others may want to check it out. I'm sure I have missed some species and I definitely have missed some morphs, hopefully I can get some input and flesh this list out some more. A couple of species are listed under more than one genus because I record information as it is presented (i.e. older info uses older generic names). I will update the list periodically (depending upon the amount of input I receive).

Thanks Phil. There are 20 histo morphs in U.S. collections? I left white foots off the list because I'm not sure if they are still around.

Yeah the idea was just the ones available in the U.S., but maybe I should make a second list that includes all morphs. If anyone wants to offer any info on uncollected/unavailable morphs or those only available in the European/Asian markets then I will add them to the list. I left off mysteriosus, captivus, and a bunch of the thumbs because they aren't available...but I'm totally willing to add them to the list.

Still on the fence about including some selectively bred morphs and still trying to get answers about some of the question marks on the list. Hopefully sometime soon we will have a list that is close to being complete (I imagine that it will never be truly complete). Everyone keep the input coming, I really think this could become a great resource.

How about listing all the Panamanian frog morphs ?

About the bastis, I had them on the original list but some people thought that listing the colors would be misleading because they should not be bred specifically for color so I took them off. Maybe I should include them with some sort of notation. I didn't include Red Frog Beach and Salt Creek under bastimentos to make sure it was clear that they are distinct localities. Has there been any clarification about the Cemetary population? I remember that some believed it was an artifical locale because it may have been a holding area for exports.

Great list! I appreciate you putting in the effort.
My only question is about the use of the word 'available'. There are LOTS of frogs on this list that I would not classify as available to the private hobbiest; such as Ranitomeya fulgarita, Ranitomeya virolinensis and Excitobates capitvus. Others on the lists are of questionable legal status; such as Adelphobates castaneoticus and Oophaga lehmanni.
Is the list intended to be a general 'list of darts' or are you truly aiming for an accurate assessment of what people are working with in North America?

Hey Mike,
The list is meant to encompass all species/morphs/locales that are in collections in the U.S., not just the easily obtainable ones...that would have been much less work  There are already general dart lists (I believe Phil made one of those), so I was just focusing on frogs that are here. I thought about putting a notation next to some that are almost impossible to get (to avoid people getting their hopes up) but since rarity is not a stable condition (i.e. the new sylvaticus) I decided it wasn't necessary and would have to be revised often. The two Ranitomeya that you mentioned were imported in the mid 90's so I included them, though I don't know if they are still around. I have been given strong evidence (privately) that E. captivus is in the country...I tried to keep my personal ethical views out of making the list, just report what I am told (many of the frogs on the list may be of questionable legality). Hopefully one day I can make a list of frogs available in foreign markets (Especially the EU and Asia).

First, I would like to thank you for puttng this list together, its great. One correction to note: miti miti is not a pumilio morph, however Mimitimbi is a area in Panama right around La Gruta and Bocas Del Drago. Mimitimbi is one of the sites noted for Colon Pumilio. The Colon sites currently present in the US hobby are Mimitimbi (Mimitimbi Bluff), Del Drago (Bocas Del Drago), and Nominat, although Nominat is not really a morph but a name given to the early, non-site specific Colon. It is possible there are other site specific Colon, but nothing I have heard of and certainly not present in any sizeable numbers.

I am of the opinion that there are no more Palmar Norte in the U.S. hobby. The one guy I know of who worked with them years ago no longer has them. If anybody does work with Palmar Norte , please contact me.
Oophaga pumilio:
Chiriqui Grande, Chiriqui River,... Be very careful when using these names. When these green frogs came in they went from being wrongly labeled "Bruno" (they are not) and flipped from one name to a next for years afterword. These are best guess frogs/no site locale data.
Colons, ... Craig explained well.
Cristobal, Cristobal Mainland... There is no such thing as a mainland Cristobal. It's like saying mainland Hawaiian, or mainland Jamaican, or mainland Manhattan, no such thing. It is/was a marketing ploy.
All San Cristobal Island pums are just that , island morphs.
Escudo-possibly a unique species,... They are
Popa,... several confirmed different known locales in the hobby
Rio Branco,... Maybe, maybe not. To my personal knowledge, no known locale info came in with any pronounced brancos.
Sarapiqui, ... A blue jean locale
Solarte,... Synonymous with Nancy.
But NOT to be confused with the Salt Creeks which some had decided to mis-name "solarte" because there is a population on Nancy/Solarte which look somewhat like Salt Creek. However , when Salt Creek were imported they fetched a lot more $$$ than saying they were from Bastimentos (the most bred pum at the time, therefore the cheapest...) and just looked different.
Yellow Belly... A good name for best guess green frogs with yellow bellies.
For those who assume they are Cayo de Aqua, I can name about four other locales which have the same look. Especially when comparing photos alone.
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.
If tone is more important to you than content, you are at the wrong place.

Thanks Craig and Rich. I will amend the list and repost soon. I think it is shaping up pretty well, I know it will never be complete, but I am hoping to make it as complete as possible. I'm still open to making sublists of species/morphs/localities available in European and Asian markets if anyone has input. I know that may just cause more confusion though.
