Here's the problem with lids with pre-punched tiny holes:
1. Mite infestations - mites walk out / walk in. A Superhighway. Fabric coted lids may not be 100% mite proof but they have to be at least 90% better at keeping mites out
2. Not as much airflow as fabric believe it or not. Then when it's real humid and the larvae seek air, they climb to the holes and clog them up, some even getting out of the cup and the others choking off the air supply.
