Magnolia leaf litter- $3/bag (cleaned but not sterilized)
Indian Almond Leaves 5/$3
Liquidambar styraciflua (Sweet Gum) "Gum Balls"- 15/$5; These are awesome little microfauna factories. The pods have many open holes in them, which provides a huge amount of surface area and hides for springtails and isopods. This is a great addition to create a more "natural" look to the upper leaf layers and keeps litter from compacting when placed in the lower layers of litter.
