  Historic Oophaga lineages?
Posted by: Sherman - 09-13-2015, 11:49 AM - Forum: Oophaga Genus - Replies (34)

Can anyone show record of successful captive propagation of large Oophaga from the 90s? (Which I do not argue could have happened) I would imagine that this would be something people would be proud of and maybe want to share. Photography and the hobby seem to have always gone hand and hand.

A series of photos?, with increasing mega pixel resolution, with perhaps a mullet or something.

I am only asking a question here. It is based on the fact that I have heard claims of "from the 90s" attached to frogs that were not seen then. Please don't get all pissed off either, I am just trying to tease out information that may increase the contrast in a grey area.

New Rio Branco Pair - pics
Posted by: rcteem - 09-11-2015, 05:16 PM - Forum: Enclosures, Setup and Construction - Replies (9)

So after winning Shawn's facebook auction for my pair of frogs I set them up in a 24x18x18 exo terra with a drip wall on all three sides for a temporary home as their permanent home is still growing in. To my amazement I have developing eggs just under two weeks of owning them. I also have learned since having them that males are few and far between from this last shipment of them and they can be finicky breeders with sporadic breeding. So here is to hopefully a successful breeding pair. Enjoy the pictures.

Edit*- I'll have to upload them through Photobucket so I can post them. Pictures will come tonight

Is my male citronella trying to mate?
Posted by: _ld99 - 09-10-2015, 06:38 PM - Forum: Breeding - Eggs, Tadpoles, Froglets - Replies (6)

My male citronella which is about a year old continually approaches the female which is about 10 months old. He faces his rear end toward her and nudges her. Is he trying to mate? I havent heard him call at all. Just curious if that's what they're doing.

The old Tesoros swag company apparently went AWOL, so Chris Bellec set up a CafePress account for them.
20% of the purchase price will go to Tesoros de Colombia.

  FF Cultures Wanted NYC

Apologies if this is supposed to be in the classified section.

I was a away for a few days but looks like my FF cultures crashed. Anyone have any cultures in the Brooklyn / LIC area?

I tried a local source in the UWS but there are also out and don't have pinheads at the moment.

  Plant Package for sale
Posted by: goods - 09-05-2015, 01:56 AM - Forum: Everything else for Sale or Trade - No Replies

Looking to take some clippings from my tanks. Many of these plants will be uncommon. Nothing will be run of the mill, available at Lowe's, etc. Most are Neotropic. I'll send this one out for $75 shipped or make me an offer

Philodendron verrucosum
Diastema lutea
Syngonium erythrophyllum
Hoffmannia "bullatus"
Begonia polliloensis (Old World)
Marcgravia sp. Suriname
Microgramma heterophylla
Anthurium polyschistum
Monstera siltepecana
Paradrymonia campostyla
Begonia sp. Colombia 'ABG'
Peperomia sp. Costa Rica
Costus sp.

Begonia sp. Colombia- I received a cutting of this plant from a friend who got it from ABG many years ago. This one seems to be slow to propagate. I've only ever sent out one other piece of this, and I know other friends who have it have not mailed out many plants.

Leaf shape is similar to that of the Gobenia section, but this is a much larger plant overall. As leaves mature, they develop nice silver/white specks throughout.
