  Gope's got frogs!
Posted by: Gope - 08-18-2015, 09:20 PM - Forum: Vivarium, Frog Room and Plant Photographs - Replies (6)

Moved the kids into their new home today after a month in Q. 3 O.P. Siquirres juvies. They've been exploring all day. I think they're a bit freaked out by their new surroundings which I guess is to be expected. I know fish can take a while to acclimate to a new tank. I've seen them take a few pretty good falls from top to bottom that concerned me. Should it? I'm talking about 12-14" and bump a rock on the way down! No obvious effect. I've also seen them gobble flies which is encouraging!

Plants are growing, Slowly! Frog poop should help.

  Metabolic Bone Disease?
Posted by: _ld99 - 08-18-2015, 01:39 PM - Forum: Hospital - Stress, Injuries, Disease and Treatments - Replies (9)

My frogs toe looks broken at times. He will be standing on it and it will be folded under his foot. Is this a case of MBD or is this normal? Other times the toe will look totally normal.

Posted by: _ld99 - 08-17-2015, 09:59 PM - Forum: Hospital - Stress, Injuries, Disease and Treatments - Replies (3)

For the past week my azureus stool is half brown and half red. I'm not 100 percent sure if it is blood but there is a red stain on the wood where the stool was. What could be the cause? What could i do to treat it? Thanks!

  How many plants?
Posted by: Naked - 08-11-2015, 10:27 PM - Forum: Beginner Questions and Comments - Replies (2)

I was looking at some pictures of plants that I was thinking of getting.

But how do you know how many to get?
Is there a plant per gal or per floor space rule?
I got some drawings and plans for what I want to build, I guess I could place my plants with estimated size on it.
What do you guys do?
Right now I think of getting around 30 plants for 90 gallon.
What did you guys do for your first viv?

Thanks

-Martin

Chris,

All I'm finding is a Facebook page for you. Didn't you used to have a regular 'non Satanic' method of getting ahold of ya - olde fashioned weeb page?

I get a few PM's every so often with questions about your fine professional glass enclosures.

Can you post your preferred email address on this thread ? You can spell it out so the bots don't get it with 'dot' and 'at' ect, so no worries.

Your admiring public and eager potential clients await you.

  For Sale D. tinctorius "Lorenzo"
Posted by: joneill809 - 08-09-2015, 04:44 PM - Forum: Dart Frog Classifieds - Replies (1)

Sellers Name and location - Jim O'Neill, Austin TX
no feedback yet (come on people Wink ) viewtopic.php?f=25&t=9049
Species - Dendrobates tinctorius "Lorenzo"
Line/Origin - Sean Stewart Line
Code - JO-LRZ-2014A-1ss.2ss
Age - 6+ months
Quantity and sex (if possible) - groups of four siblings - I'll do my best to sex based on my experience with Lorenzos
Price - $500
Group Prices - $500
Preferred Payment Method - PayPal
Shipping Rates & information - I ship through SYR at buyers expense (SYR cost). My typical shipping materials fee waived for this group purchase (phase 22 packs, shipping cooler). Live arrival guaranteed if shipped to FedEx hub and picked up within an hour of availability. You MUST specify the hub as an approved ship to address with Paypal.

Lorenzo are a wonderful and uncommon dwarf tinctorius morph. They are more difficult to breed than other tincs, and they require additional time to grow out to shippable sizes. These animals are 6+ months (some are 8+ months), yet if you are familiar with tincs, they will seem small. They are slow growers, and typically only reach 30 to 35 mm SVL. I hold them back for longer because of their small size.

PLEASE NOTE: it's too hot to ship out of Austin right now, so I'm looking to line up interested parties for fall shipping. I will accommodate local pickups / meetups now. I am opening up a shipping / wait list, but I don't accept deposits. I trust that you know what you are getting into, and if you don't respond when it's time to ship I will simply move on to the next person on the list.

******ADDITIONAL INFORMATION******
These animals are the first I produced from my Stewart line grouping (JO-LRZ-2014A-1ss.2ss) which yielded about 20 animals before I shifted pairings earlier this year. I've got three groups of 4 animals that are ready to ship when there is a break in the weather. The price is $500 for each group of 4 animals. I've documented the raising of these animals extensively here on DD:
