Here's a good thread for someone brand new to the board to dig through and find nearby hobbyists. I see 2 from Northern VA in here, for instance.

Hi everyone!
My name is Mike. 55 years young and I live in Gallatin Tennessee. I'm married with NO human children but we have a bunch of pets. Mr. Man the African grey parrot, Sinbad and Dewey the Senegal parrots( Sinbad was my Moms bird, he's 46, Senegals have a true life expectancy of 35) we have 3 cats, Toby, Stewie and "The Bush Kitty" ( someone abandoned her and she lived in the bushes in our yard), a rescue ball python ( named Crystal Ball ), 5 tarantulas ( my wife's obsesion ) and 2 new Tincs. I must say, it was a real blast relocating cross country from the S.F. Bay Area with all these critters in the back of a rented van. Health issues got me OUT of darts for a number of years but now I'm back. I'm really enjoying this forum. Lots of great info to be had here. I'm retired so you may see me here a lot. Thanks for having me! Mike |
