67% of those who voted do not have and will not have a mixed tank. 33% have had or want to have a mixed tank. thats 1 in 3 people, 33% thus far of those who have voted have had or want to have a mixed tank, sorry if I was unclear on that.

Thanks Tony for saying that, with the negativity associated with mixing, it takes a sack to put it out there.

I agree that it can be done, I know I will probably never be at the level to do it. Energy's build is a phenominal example, but few have the resources, or time to do it to that level.

I answered the poll with I've never had a mixed tank but one day would like to. I will be making a Viv soon out of a modified 2 door Pepsi cooler like you see in convenience stores. Lots of floor space and lots of vertical space. So far my research leads me to think I could put a trio of tincs and a trio of imitators and they 'should' do fine. I may not do it, but I do consider it a worthwhile challenge to pull it off with success. Keep in mind, this is several handed gallons of space. I am definitely against crossbreeding. But, I think the responsibility of doing a mixed tank lies in guaranteeing the inhabitants can't interbreed and that each species specific needs are met without adding undue stress to the other inhabitants. Maybe this will make me some enemies, maybe not. All I can say is I know to do research and lots of it before attempting it. I think one of the main fears of a mixed tank is whoever does it will not do research and the hobby ends up with hybrids or more dead frogs. I want neither. My opinion, my goal, my project, will also be my experience and possibly my lesson learned.

Sounds like a sweat tank conceptually.
If possible, as a request, there are boatloads of mixing threads out there. I'd like to keep it to like what Tony, and Tim13 have posted, where an individual states what they "believe" and why on the topic, and avoid the debate. "Intimidation" can run strong on forums, even when an individual is not attempting to "intimidate". I'd like to get as many people voting, as many people posting why they feel as they do to get as accurate a count as is possible (as previously stated). Thanks in advance.
For me. I do not have, nor ever have had a mixed tank. While I think having a mixed tank would be cool, over the couple of years I've been in the hobby, I have really boned some things up. Lost a frog or 2 along the way to my own stupidity and learned some lessons the hard way. Each time, my mind goes back to a particular post or thread that I've chosen to ignore and blazed my own trail thinking "it'll be ok". It's not a chance I want to take, and one that I know for where I'm at it would be a mistake.

Still hovering around 35% for those who have had or want to have mixed tanks, and 65% for those who will not...
Im suprised at how high it is.
