  R. imitator "Chazuta" group for sale
Posted by: Frogopolis - 05-06-2015, 08:06 PM - Forum: Dart Frog Classifieds - Replies (3)

R. imitator "Chazuta"
Understory Enterprises
Age: 2 months
0.0.5
$100.00

I am selling all five of these frogs together as unsexed froglets. The parents are offspring I bought from Richard Hein who bought the parents directly from UE. Richard Hein is a poster on DB. I keep two unrelated pairs of Chazuta and these are the offspring from them. 2 are from one set of parents and the other 3 are from the other. The froglets are all highly variable.

All my thumbnail froglets are just now becoming old enough to sell and I need to start moving them! This is my first sale on this board and I don't have any reviews so I thought I'd offer these at a good price. I did sell some thumnails to PaulyD through the PM so you may want to contact him for a review.

I will ship them in a new foam-lined box with either a Phase22 panel, Crypack, or other heat or cold pack for the trip between my place and yours. I ship using FedEx Priority Overnight by 10:30 and will only charge you the actually cost of shipping.

  First eggs?
Posted by: joshuaseidman94 - 05-06-2015, 10:31 AM - Forum: Breeding - Eggs, Tadpoles, Froglets - Replies (9)

So I recently have found that I have a male and female variabilis. I've been keeping my eyes peeled for some eggs and found these this morning. I have no exprience and was wondering if these were eggs or just debris?

Thanks so much!

  Potential male and female?
Posted by: joshuaseidman94 - 05-03-2015, 07:12 PM - Forum: General Questions and Comments - Replies (1)

So I have 3 variabilis in my vivarium. One is 3 months old, one is 6 months old and the last is 7 months old. I had posted a picture of the 7 month old frog because it seemed to be carrying eggs and so I wanted the opinion of more experienced dart frog members. All the people who commented on my post agreed that "she" seemed to be carrying eggs. So, naturally, my next question was if I have a male and female or not? The 7 month old frog is quite larger than the 6 month old. Of course the age difference can account for the size difference but I do not believe there would be such a large difference. Especially since their overall body shapes different as well. The 7 month old is about half a bodies length longer than the 6 month old and she is a lot rounder and "fuller." I know it is difficult to say whether I have a male and female, especially since I haven't herd calling yet. Another thing I would like to add is that the smaller frog tends to chase after the larger frog all day and tries to hang around it as much as it can. I posted a photo of the two below..does anyone have any insight into whether or not these 2 seem to be a potential breeding pair?

The top left is the frog I believe is female and the potential male is bottom right.

Also I posted the photo if the female that people said she looked to be carrying eggs.

Thanks so much guys!

  Help, tinc losing weight
Posted by: andi2893 - 05-02-2015, 11:20 PM - Forum: Hospital - Stress, Injuries, Disease and Treatments - Replies (2)

I am new to dart frogs and I recently got two adults tincs. I have had them for about 4 months. Recently the male died for unknown reasons. Now the female is losing weight fast even though she is eating well. I took a fecal sample to the vet and it came back normal. Please help I do not want to lose her too.

  Variabilis carrying eggs?
Posted by: joshuaseidman94 - 05-02-2015, 08:27 PM - Forum: Beginner Questions and Comments - Replies (3)

So my variabilis is abt 7 months old and is in a tank with a 5-6 month old variabilis. The 7 month old is significantly larger than the 6 month old. She is about half a body length longer than the 6 month old frog. She seems rather plump and I was wondering if she looks like she is carrying eggs? I have heard no calling but am under the impression their call is low. [Image: a212ea6f0e3b9f0f39ce734690c18ef5.jpg]

Noticed these in the feeder display:

The price tag claims 500 qty:

Looking closer, I would not have estimated 500:

Anyhow it's good to see more variety in feeders in the local chain stores. I hope the quality improves a bit in what I saw, but they may have just been the remnants from an older shipment. Anybody else seeing hydei in Petsmart?
