So it's become apparent over the last month that among my three P. terribilis dart frogs, my one Apollo is excessively greedy. He is much rounder and more well-fed than my other frogs Ash and Christopher. I tried to solve the issue by spacing out where I placed the fruit flies so that there were three distinct areas where each frog dwells on their own and could eat there. However, after a few months of doing this, I caught Christopher attempting to eat near Apollo and Apollo "attacked" him and chased him away. That, and Apollo goes everywhere to eat; he won't stay in one spot, he has to munch on every group of flies.
I recently decided to drastically increase the number of flies I was feeding, thinking Apollo would eventually fill up and leave plenty for the other two. Instead, I found Apollo excessively fat and the other two still rather streamline and hungry.
Today, I fed all my frogs a huge sum of flies, and then later in the day I did so again but removed Apollo and placed him in a quarantine bin. However, Christopher and Ash are still very timid about eating. Christopher has begun eating but without any vigor, and Ash has yet to appear and eat.
Any suggestions or comments about what I've been doing? I don't wish to have to keep removing Apollo for fear of stressing him too much, but I also don't have the space or means to separate the group. Has anyone else dealt with intraspecies aggression when feeding and found some way to diffuse the situation? Also, are my frogs in danger of not growing properly if they're not plump, but rather streamline (i.e. their stomach is flat with their sides and doesn't pudge out)?
All non-hateful, helpful comments are appreciated.

Forms of the O. Pumilio "Blue Jeans"

What I'm talking about are real Blue Jeans. Is there a physical difference with these frogs throughout their entire range from Nicaragua-Costa Rica-Panama? What I am after is the coloration of a bright red body with blue legs. I've seen some Blue Jeans that are a burnt orange coloring with dull blue legs and they weren't Almirante.
I know these are an expensive form of Pumilo and are somewhat hard to come by, but I've pretty much narrowed it down to these or maybe Cayo Nancy/Solarte or Bri Bri or this other form, (?) Viejo.
I'm not ashamed to admit it - I want a bright red Pumilio.

On raising R. Imitator "Chazuta"

I'd like to give you my firsthand experience with raising Imitators. I've only been keeping them a little more than a year but after keeping four of the different types of Imitator I've noticed certain differences. Below is my experience with Imitators raising young.
I have two pairs of Chazuta and one of the pairs is quite prolic and the other still hasn't laid any eggs at all, or at least any that I've seen.
In the enclosure with the producing pair I keep six white film canisters nearly vertical, filled halfway up with a real weak amount of tadpole tea. So far I can't say if the male has taken any of the tadpoles to the bromeliads but he regularly deposits the tadpoles in the film canisters. The female regularly deposits food eggs in the canisters and once they've been in there several weeks I usually pull them because the water will ultimately get too rank.
Here's the point of my story - The tadpoles that I allow to be raised in the canisters not only grow quicker but grow larger faster as compared to the tadpoles that I've pulled from eggs or have taken out of the canisters immediately after they've been deposited. Whether this is because of the food eggs or the climate inside of the vivarium I don't know. My Nominat Green imitators have always taken the tadpoles to the axils of the Neoregalias but I've found a froglet that was raised in the enclosure. My Varadero were completely secretive and I only new I had offspring when I would go to feed or mist and a tiny froglet would come bounding out of the jungle. I keep film canisters the same way in my Nominant enclosure but they are never used.
So this is something I wanted to contribute. Just my observation. I have so many Chazuta tadpoles right now from this one pair that I've decided to just leave any more of the tadpoles alone and let the parents raise them.

I used to be in the frog hobby about 5 years ago, but I got out of it due to school and a few other things. I bought this 90 gallon tank for a price that I couldn't pass by and here I am building again. This time I want it to be pretty elaborate, just taking my time to do it right. I would like some pumilio to go in it, what variant of I'm not sure yet, but blue jean pumilio have always been my favorite.
That being said I just starting working on a fake rock and driftwood river bank vivarium. I have some pics so far but I will have to figure out how to make them smaller to upload. I am using cypress driftwood, does anyone know how long this stuff really lasts before it rots? I bought it from a reef shop and he seemed to think it would last for a really long time, which I assume is pretty true. Also, don't wanna post in the wrong place, but if anyone has any plants they want to get rid of then please send me a pm, I need a good. It for this one
Thanks
Brooks

P. vittatus info?

When I started in this hobby and deciding on which species to buy first I considered buying P. vittatus. There was just something about the coloring of the frog that I saw in pictures and I was happy to find out they were considered a good beginner's frog.
I still want some and I'm considering purchasing several at UE's next shipment. I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts about this frog if you've kept it. One of the reasons I never purchased this frog was so many of the pictures I saw of them the male was always carrying huge amounts of tadpoles on it's back. I'd like to keep this frog even if it's only a pair, and I'll admit it's for one of the same reasons I chose my Leucs; it' the male's call.
A couple of questions. How big do they get in relation to an adult Leuc. Also, I've heard of people keeping pairs of these in 12x12x18 Exo Terra's. Is this realistic? I have a new 18" Exo Terra cube that's growing in right now so I'd probably put them in there.
I'd appreciate your advise and experience with these frogs.
